You won't want to hear this, but the whole 10.0.x cycle was effectively a beta OS and not something you should even *consider* trying to do development work on. :-(

Fully legal copies of 10.2 and 10.3 are pretty cheap on eBay due to Apple's 'full copy, no upgrades' policy, 10.3 install disks go for $30-40. 10.2.8 is really the minimum you should be looking at.
