The engine is using the settings specified by the OS. It sounds like you
are on a Mac -- if so, the setting you want to change is in the General
control panel. Set the menu blinking to a different number, or turn it
off. Whatever you apply in the control panel will be reflected
throughout your entire Mac, of course; menu blinking will change for all applications.
