Very true with one exception: limited resources are not only due to being a
student. I think a low-end license should be available for everyone, student
or not. Non-students are bringing in money, to be sure, but holding on to it
is another thing altogether! :-)

A low-end license would indeed appeal to students as well as to many other
important groups: the "hobbyists" and small developers, shareware authors,
small businesses, teachers whose schools don't buy the software for them, or
anyone else who for whatever reason does have a budget, but a smaller budget
than what the current licenses assume.
