Useful Thing-

C4U Scout

This program is so simple to use yet provides a function that can be invaluable to
avid web surfers
and information junkies.
Of course, I am both of those. : )
This program resides locally on your system and monitors changes on websites that you
specify. Once
a site has been entered the program can monitor the site for new links, new images,
new email
addresses, whether the text has changed and for any specific key words that you enter.
It may also
be set to ignore routine "periodic changes" made to a site.

Here's what the authors say about the program-
"The "C4U SCOUT" is a unique program that scans a list of favorite sites that are
pre-selected by
the user, and locates the changes that have taken place since the last time the user
checked in.
After C4U SCOUT finds all the changes it notifies the user and displays the changes
highlighted and
in an easily viewable manner in a browser-like window in the C4U application. The
program allows the
user to set a list of preferred sites and the parameters according to which the sites
will be
scanned (e.g. interval between checking and type of content sought - general text
change, key word,
link, image etc.)."

The file is 1.13M and can be found here-
