Useful Thing-

NeoTrace Express

I'm sure many of you have performed a traceroute at one time or another.
A traceroute is a "TCP/IP utility which allows the user to determine the route packets
are taking to
a particular host."
What that means is you type in an URL and traceroute tries to follow it back to it's
host server.
Very handy when you want to know where in the world a particular server is located.
NeoTrace Express gives you a graphical representation of the route back to the host
server.
It also gives you WhoIs information and info about the network it's hosted on.

Oops! Almost forgot to mention that it integrates into the Internet Explorer browser.
As your visiting a site click on the NeoTrace icon in the toolbar and the current site
will be
traced. Cool!

This is a lite version of their professional edition.
I don't usually feature "lite" versions of software but I like this one and since it
isn't adware,
and does exactly what it's supposed to do, I decided to let you know about it.

Registration is required to use this edition. An email address is required for
registration.

Here's the description of the program from the site-
"NeoTrace is the world's most popular graphical Internet trace route utility. It's
used by law
enforcement, ISPs, and network professionals all over the world.

NeoTrace Express is a freeware version of the popular NeoTrace tool. This version
offers the mapping
features of the Professional version and the essential features you need to trace web
sites. It's
multithreaded, so it's very fast and can simultaneously check multiple hops on the
route. It shows
the route on a world map with detail on the path taken by your Internet traffic.
NeoTrace Express
can integrate with Internet Explorer to offer one-click tracing to web sites and URLs."
