The way the Apache process works, we could vote someone in to continue development on it. I wouldn't be surprised if Gilles and the others are simply too busy. I know that's kept me from being as productive on the Java version... it's about 6 months late LOL.
iBATIS.NET is very popular according to the downloads, so development can and should continue.
