Both iBATIS 2 and 3 are targeted for Java 5.  We believe this is the most
common ground for compatibility.  We'll move up to 6 once there's a reason
to, and when we feel that the installed base of JDK 6 is sufficient.

That said, it does work fine under Java 6, it just doesn't require it.
