Poor mans workaround 1:

Create a sds or nurbs sphere
Create a 1 bone skeleton
Adjust the mapping radius
Press bind Volume
Move the skeleton
Delete the skeleton
Delete the choreograph from the Object

or use SkelDia SkinManager to paint selections for the bone.
and then deform.
