And I'll throw in my old recommendation on the matter! > We need far better import / export features in RS. To be able to import a > mesh with textures AND animation data out of RS as one unit and into say > Games Engines and / or for Character Animators - Motionbuilder OR Messiah > Studio and the like [ the latter two being specialist Char Anim apps, not > overall 3D apps ]. Collada is an open format that supports all this and is being included in the major apps. This format has now been adopted by the Khronos group (OpenGL, OpenVG, etc.) which should secure stronger adoption throughout the industry. http://www.khronos.org/collada/ As the only standard format that includes meshes, animation, shaders and physics, I can't see that there's a better format to use for cross-platform exchange if you want to communicate this much information, including game development. For example if the physics support works with ODE, that'll tie in nicely with indie game development where this is a popular free physics engine. David Coombes [EMAIL PROTECTED] ...
