I got too soft transitions when I tried bitmaps. Maybe it is possible with bitmaps by using HDR images. But Mark is a specialist in that area ;) > > > I included a little test I did in C4D to investigate > > the procedural possibilities of that app. I want to try to > > get a similar (or better) effect in RS. > > Sometime ago I posted a vsl material to the list that produces a random > colored tile pattern with a limited number of colors and a > calculated chance > for each color (6 colors if I remember well, see attachment). I did a show all messages from sender, but I could only find your question about the random colortile which is in the Realsoft library. Anyway I was more thinking of influencing the basic color as chosen in the color tab. In that case I can still use it in the same way as at this moment. The same material for purple and orange tiles. I think I'll have to change the setup of the material. It's probably easiest to use the brick shader. Kind of the same way as I randomized the floortiles. If you remember that material. But maybe the provided random colortiles material is a good base to start with too. Arjo.
