Hello Haidar,

We're running with the magnolia repository outside the webapp, without
problems, both under windows and linux.
We're currently using magnolia 4.4.2, but it also worked with older versions.

Once you have content in the repository, you can't just delete the repository
filesystem.
So if you have already deleted the filesystem once, you also need to clear out
the database, and start fresh.

If you want to delete the indexes, don't delete the whole repository folder,
but instead just the "index" subdirectories.

Regards from Vienna,

Richard

Betreff: [magnolia-user] Clean working directory in Tomcat

Hi,

In development environment, when i clean the tomcat working directory, it will
automatically delete the index. It result with a index corruption.

I have tried changing the magnolia.properties to
magnolia.cache.startdir=C:/tsc/magnolia/cache
magnolia.upload.tmpdir=C:/tsc/magnolia/tmp
magnolia.exchange.history=C:/tsc/magnolia/history
magnolia.repositories.config=WEB-INF/config/default/repositories.xml
magnolia.repositories.home=C:/tsc/magnolia/repositories
magnolia.repositories.jackrabbit.config=WEB-INF/config/repo-conf/jackrabbit-bundle-mysql-search.xml
for the repository index to be outside the webapp folder. As soon as this is
done magnolia is not able to re install all modules.

What is the best practice for development.

Thanks
