Hello,

I'm not sure what your Problem might be, but here are some pointers:

To have both a public and an author instance, you need to install the magnolia
webapp in tomcat twice, under different contexts. The two instances of the
magnolia webapp have slightly different configurations, and, very importantly,
each has its own repository.

If you download the magnolia "bundle" release you will find a fully configured
example using tomcat which you can use as a template for your configuration.

If you want to get rid of the "magnoliaPublic" prefix, which is the
context-name of the webapp in tomcat, you need to install the webapp into the
tomcat "ROOT" context. Usually it is enough to rename the context folder from
"magnoliaPublic" to "ROOT".

If you rename your public context, you also need to reconfigure the subscriber
on the author instance (under Configuration --> Subscribers).

After editing your page, you need to "publish" it from the author instance to
your public instance. Also, you need to publish any template scripts, template
definitions, paragraph definitions, themes, the site configuration, resources,
dms-content, etc... used by your website.

Once everything is published, the page should show up nicely.

Regards from Vienna,

Richard

Hey everyone,
I'm facing a wall because I just can't seem to figure out how to publish my
hello-world test website under a personal domain.
I am working on a Linux Server, not localhost, let's call the domain
http://exchange.abc.de:8080/. So my activated hello-world page is working
perfectly fine at http://exchange.abc.de:8080/magnoliaAuthor/helloworld.html.

How can I get this page published to the domain
http://exchange.abc.de:8080/magnoliaPublic/helloworld.html or even better at
http://exchange.abc.de:8080/helloworld.html ?

And how do I change the linkage from the Magnolia Start Interface "Visit the
published website" to my "helloworld.html"

questions upon questions :)

Any help is highly appreciated!
