Hi. Just renaming the webapp and not modifying its content should not cause NoClassDefFoundErrors. Did you completely clean your tomcat folders? Remove the WAR, the extracted webapp folder and all occurences in folders like temp and work. The deploy your renamed webapp and see if the error is still there.
