I said: [quote]No user ever gets to see the file in question. [/quote] This is not quite true. In my JMeter tests most requests to download the file do succeed (I get an error rate of around 10%). However from our client we understand that many end-users do fail to download the file. So how this works exactly I still do not understand. Once the file is either in cache or marked to be non-cacheable it should work fine you say (and that it was I would think) but this is not what we see. It remains to be a problem. Until we disable the cache and then it works fine (even if the file is retrieved from the database for every request which of course is not what we would like).
