How about using an approach similar to ChannelVisibilityContentDecorator? You could extend NodePredicateContentDecorator and place your logic in there. Then you would extend RenderingFilter and override the isVisible(..) method. In there you would wrap content with your decorator and let it evaluate if it is visible or not to the current user.
