Hi Adi, Yes, the Vaadin compiler is limited. Unfortunately AFAIK there is no better Java-based solution.
If you want the full featured SASS compiler you will have to use Ruby or JRuby, which I find an ugly solution if you are otherwise using pure java... There is hope, of course, that Vaadin's compiler will improve with time, but for the moment you are correct in saying that it is missing many features.
