Hi there, Even when adding the external plugins, the server-side "listeners" are still missing for custom configs, hence why nothing happens. You could extend the field factory and add those via MagnoliaRichTextFieldConfig#addListenedEvent... kind of a hassle, but...
Good news, as of Magnolia 5.3.4 (due next week iirc), the magnolia plugins are always registered, so they work with JS configs as well.
