We ran into it recently on our development branch, after the Vaadin upgrade. I just noticed this week that it affected IE as well — *on current Vaadin version*. We'll try to schedule it as soon as possible, meanwhile you might try the IE9 mode, it may work more reliably in general. Do let me know if that works for you, as we may make it the default compatibility mode for the Magnolia 5.2 and 5.3 series.
