Hi Will, It would be interesting to know what the problem is.
I've noticed for our indices (100GB of data) that they can take very long to regenerate (several hours). However, eventually they manage to come up. Usually there are thousands of exceptions related to parsing problems in .doc and .pdf documents. CPU Load is high while this is going on, but not 100%. We haven't seen the exact behavior you mention. Looks like other people have though: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/26151364/cpu-load-issue-magnolia-5-3-3-jackrabbit-2-8-0 I'd be interested to know which Indexer JackRabbit (Lucene) is using for mp3 files, and if changing/disabling that solves the problem.
