Hi Simon, Every few years someone suggests doing this. So far I don't know if anyone has been brave enough to try.
In theory, thanks to URI2Repository Mappings, Site Mappings and other things already in place in magnolia it should be possible and not too hard. The question is how many 'small cases' show up that need solving, and yes, how you deal with the Apps which have their repositories hard-wired into their configuration. If you try it, I would be *very* interested to know how it goes.
