I'd suggest alternative approach: use GA or other analytics suite code to track page views and retrieve that info when composing list of most read articles.
Why? - They have worked long and hard to be able to distinguish different reads and so this works despite proxies or other things in between - tracking is independent of your cache, public instances, etc - there's ready to use API for retrieving the information and using it in your code - you don't need to worry about updating the data, time decay of the information etc. All that can be configured in analytics already. - all you need to do is insert the tracking code & then retrieve view count info over given period for all codes you are interested in (seems like least-effort approach to me) -- Context is everything: http://forum.magnolia-cms.com/forum/thread.html?threadId=2f363e1f-6b96-46ec-886a-07827863f6ad ---------------------------------------------------------------- For list details, see http://www.magnolia-cms.com/community/mailing-lists.html Alternatively, use our forums: http://forum.magnolia-cms.com/ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <[email protected]> ----------------------------------------------------------------
