Hehe, well it may be a bit hopeful to expect your server to be able to
dedicate all its memory to running tomcat :D
I haven't really experimented around with so little memory. Maybe you
should try running with a little less memory. I'm not sure how much
Magnolia really needs (256 is more than enough). You could try 200,
but I seriously recommend you upgrade your server with a bit more RAM.

Can you state the hardware specifications of the server?
Pentium 4 1.7 GHz, 256MB RAM
What are the parameters you run tomcat with (JAVA_OPTS)?
JAVA_OPTS="-Xms128M -Xmx256M"

Hello!
I have tested Magnolia on Debian even with 128M RAM, but before
deploying war,
you should let some other machine w more memory to properly bootstrap
repositories
it can be Win or Unix, of course :)
Than pack this booted instance into war and deploy. This should work
even though you have
only 256M.
Greetings
