I had in mind that Berkeley was the suggested database for Magnolia, and
is just not shipped because of licensing issues. However Mr. Kraft
suggested to use it because it is faster than derby.

Will magnolia 3 work on Berkeley and is there any other configuration
needed than described on the wiki?

Hi Claudio,

We did not include BerkeleyDBPersistenceManager in 3.0 because its no  
longer supported by jackrabbit community.
you can still find it on http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/jackrabbit/ 
trunk/contrib/bdb-persistence/
