Not sure if you're speaking of nodedata or content but for both it should be simple:

for content just use .getUUID(); on your content.
for nodedata: afaik the name has to be unique (otherwise content of nodedata gets overwritten)- so below certain content all nodes will have unique identifier just use .getName() on your nodedata.

also solution for sitewide unique identification of nodedatas should now be strikingly simple just use getUUID of content and concatenate with getName() of nodedata.
