I've done it two ways at various times. One is to set up a security role user, activate him from superuser, then change the password on superuser. Log out, log back in as the security role user and then activate the superuser with the new password.
Alternatively turn on the Admin property on the public instance and the change user option will then be available. Don't forget to turn it back off when you're done.
