Hi Salman,

doing it yourself is ONE way. The other is to buy the low cost Packager
migration license for CE and let Packager do the content migration.

Hi Ralf,

Thanx atleast somebody replied :) ... At the moment we are not able to afford
an EE but I was just curious if there is any guide which could save time to get
round this whole structure change. So as this is not available with CE, I will
do it myself now knowing that I m not wasting time as this is the only way.
Thanx again

Cheers,

Hi Salman,

Because there are changes in content structure and in Magnolia API you have to
migrate both.

The content migration can be done using Magnolia Packager which is part of
Magnolia Enterprise Edition. If you do not have Magnolia EE, you can dig the
Magnolia sources, identify the changes and write a converter or buy a Packager
migration license for EUR 58 at http://mgnl.org where you can find some hints
on the template migration as well.

with this. I want to preserve all the contents of the site and custom templates
which have been developed so far.
