For anyone interested: When I restarted the Magnolia server today, it
just worked. If anyone has experienced such problems with "dynamic
updates" and has more information, I would be interested.
This was in reference to my previous posting "Problem with Developer
Section". It is posted as a new item as the underlying problem is a
conceptual difficulty with "Activation".
I have resolved this problem: Changes are not in effect unless they have
been "activated". Now this leads to a conceptual problem, I would like
to ask the developers: What does activation really mean? Is it
"publication" or "flushing" a session?
From the documentation.magnolia.info,
[http://documentation.magnolia.info/docs/en/editor/magnolia/website/activatepages.html]
The process of copying content from one Magnolia instance to another is
called Activation. When we talk about activating a page (Web page, User,
Role, etc.) we mean copying the page from one instance to the other.
This seems to imply the "publication" view on activation (at least for
web-pages), i.e., to copy to the "public" instance. Now, when working
from the Author instance, it shouldn't be necessary to "activate" in
order to flush changes to paragraphs and dialogs, right? Or am I
misunderstanding?
Kind Regards,
- Karl
