I have various clients that have quite heavy pages (mov / downloads)
after struggling with memory issues I made a custom control that
uploads the files into the docroot of the public instance - that way
its a just a normal file-download.
these were mgnl 2.1.5 implementations maybe dms in 3.x solves that.
