Hello, We've been asked to integrate our Java Shopping Cart ( http://www.konakart.com ) with Magnolia. We've never used Magnolia before and so were wondering whether someone could give us a few tips before starting.
All KonaKart functionality is available through Java APIs or SOAP web service APIs. The options that we have thought about are: -Placing KonaKart into the same webapp as Magnolia. This solution would perform well, but we envisage problems with conflicting Jars and it certainly isn't the cleanest solution to maintain. -Placing KonaKart into another webapp and communicating via SOAP calls. This would give us the most flexibility since KonaKart could be installed anywhere and just be seen as a service by Magnolia. The web service approach is definitely our preferred integration method. If we went down that route, is there any functionality within Magnolia to facilitate the communication via SOAP or does anyone have any examples that they could share? Since KonaKart is free (and partly open source) and developed in Java, we feel that it could be a good match for anyone wanting to integrate shopping cart software within their Magnolia based application. Therefore we'd like to leave some examples / guidelines etc. for the community and would welcome the help of anyone requiring this functionality who is already proficient with Magnolia.
