Just downloaded 3.0.2 WARs, reconfigured to use the nosearch configurations,
let them bootstrap, and got the same errors. Also tried with 3.0.3, with the
same result.

Some more fooling around shows that the magnolia.properties file requires a
config file that uses search. However, the repositories.xml doesn't.
Curious. I think I've got things pretty well sorted out now, though I'm
still curious as to why magnolia.proprties needs searching turned on.
