happened to me before. I added a line to catalina.sh to check the
value of JAVA_OPTS when Tomcat starts up.
Magnolia ships with a magnolia_control.sh/.bat script that should do
that for you, without modifying the default tomcat scripts.

uses more than 140MB in task manager
