I never tried from the magnola-core directory, just from intelliJ - and when they ran successfully I stopped worrying about it since I was just testing to see if the jackrabbit 1.4 was making any obvious breaks.

I did just try from inside magnolia-core and it fails from there the same way it fails from the top level directory. Running maven with -e doesn't give me much more information either:

It's probably some strange OS X or funky setting on my part with maven. I'll have to look at it later today.
