This also brings up another topic... How long will the project
cling to a 1.4 source level? The number of collections we are
iterating over in just about every piece of code is reason enough
to go to 1.5 - and the test code has been at 1.5 for a long time now.
The reason I ask is because when I build my new modules for my
personal use, I would much prefer to use type-safe collections and
the corresponding loops. I also like stuff to get merged into the
project so others can benefit from it... For tweaking existing code
snippets I'm fine with leaving things the way they are - but if I
am building new features or new improvements - I'm not as willing
to use 1.4 syntax
You mean Magnolia? 4.0 will be Java 5. It will be a lot of work
before we get there, a year maybe, depending on how fast we can get
people involved. For the moment we work on 3.6, where we plan to
improve backup functionality and introduce JR 1.4.
