This above is from catalina.out. The same "flushing cache" message
repeats itself for every 20 seconds, so I don't want to copy hundreds
of lines here. As you can see, it took 15 mins for one activation to
complete. During those 15 mins, no one can save any work in the
author instance.
I am using Tomcat 5.5.25.
The HTTP config in server.xml is:

The java process is running with options "-Xmx2048m -Xms1024m -
XX:MaxPermSize=256m -XX:+UseParallelGC"
Let me know if you need more info.
A side question: Why does Magnolia flush the cache when the cache is
off? I am assuming that the cache flushing is deleting the cache
under magnoliaPublic/cache/mgnl-cache. When the cache is off, there
is no cache under mgnl-cache.

pastebin or somewhere.
I haven't had these problems. What kind of memory do you have
allocated to your app server? (I assume tomcat?)
If the nodes are going crazy on that activation, I'd look over how
your server settings are configured to see if there is something
funky going on.
What version are you running?
