The cache in 3.5 is based on observation of the website and dms workspaces. (by default) You can configure which workspaces are observed under /modules/cache/config Are your pages generating nodes by any chance ? (images or something maybe)

Thanks for your reply Mike, but my problem seems to be different from
the one that Po Ki described.

My cache flushing has nothing to do with content activation. I see the
"Flushing Cache..." message on each page visit. Basically, on each page
visit, the files are cached and the cache is flushed.

Hi Deepak,

I wonder if this is related somehow to the issue Po Ki brought up the other day... Very similar behavior.

Subject: [magnolia-user] Problem with Cache getting flushed
automatically.

Hi Magnolians,

I am facing a strange problem with the cache getting flushed on my
production environment running Magnolia 3.5.4.

The problem is that the cache is getting flushed automatically without
doing any admin operations. I have set the ehcache
"diskExpiryThreadIntervalSeconds" to a very high value, so that doesn't
seem to be the issue.

Here is what I have observed
-----------------------------
I see that when a request is served by the public instance, then some
files get created in the cache folder while the request is being
served;
which is good. But strangely, after the completion of the request, all files are deleted from the cache folder. While this happens, I see the
following in the debug logs -

INFO info.magnolia.cms.cache.BaseCacheManager 14.03.2008 15:44:38 --
Flushing Cache...
INFO info.magnolia.cms.cache.BaseCacheManager 14.03.2008 15:44:38 --

INFO info.magnolia.cms.cache.BaseCacheManager 14.03.2008 15:49:35 --

Not sure if this is a configuration issue or a bug in the 3.5.4
version?

Does anybody have any ideas/thoughts?
