Dear Magnolians
The WebDAV subject has surfaced many times over the history of
Magnolia. At the beginning it was even an official feature:

But it vanished before it even got public...

...only to resurface a bit later again:
"This feature will be available by the end of 2006. We currently
implement the WebDAV protocall to provides access to the files
within Magnolia's Java Content Repository from your client system
instead of using a web browser." (Quote from the current website at http://www.magnolia.info/en/products/faq.html)
.
There is evidence that someone is working on it:
http://jira.magnolia.info/browse/MAGNOLIA-50
But that evidence is rather old (May 2006)
Following the jackrabbit website with one eye, it should not be
impossible to do so since jackrabbit even provides a webdav servlet
that would probably only need some tweaking to look at the right
nodetypes.
Any word on that from the Magnolia crew?

the current structure of the DMS specifically does not easily lend
itself to what we want. Hence the WebDAV server functionality is
postponed until we have rewritten the DMS, which in turn will only
happen once we have Magnolia 4 out.
The bird's eye view of the roadmap is: 4.0 definitely before summer
2009, and the DMS might come very soon after that, maybe as a first
major proof that the new architecture delivers what we want.
But at the moment we are busy with 3.6, and the exact roadm,ap for the
next year will be defined once it is out
