Supershort manual:

- download & build
        (see http://wiki.magnolia.info/display/WIKI/List+of+Magnolia+Modules)
- install
Just place in "WEB-INF/lib" together with the scheduler module and the quartz jar (should be all in the "bundle" build)
- restart Magnolia
Now you will find "Data" menu item
- Create a new type
Click on "Data" > "Types", hit the "New type" button at the bottom, fill out the form
- Create a dialog for the type
Click on "Data" > "Config" and add a new dialog. Set it up just like you would setup a paragraph dialog. Make sure however that you leave a "name" field there to identify the data nodes
- Reload AdminCentral
I think you will need to log out and log back in again to see the new type in the menu under "Data". Now you can start entering data.
- Access the data
Setup JCR queries to access the data as you would with pages, dms nodes etc. e.g.

Hope this gets you started.

Thanks. Where can we get some information on how the data module is
working?

Subject: Re: [magnolia-user] News system

All,

We want to implement a news system using Magnolia and define some
category news.

The question we have is related to the volume of information.

We would like to create news content, export it in xml so that it can
be
syndicated into an RSS feed.

But we have about 3 news per day, which means about 1000 news a year.

We are wondering if we should create a page per news or a paragraph
per
news.

But we imagine the following drawbacks:
- 1 page per news. We will have thousand pages. Opening the page
explorer will be very long
- 1 paragraph per news. We will have thousand paragraphes and it will
be
very long to open a page (in author site when adding a news).

We do not want to user to create their own structure (like one page
per
week, then sub pages per day).

Has anybody already implemented something like that, or any idea?

data module
