Thanks to all.

My question is different from Floyd's.

I would like the process within the UML to have a ppp session directly
to the host's serial port. So the pppd session within the UML sends
data out the host's serial port. I believe this is not a problem. All
I have to do is configure the device option on the start commend for the
uml. Additional, I would like to be able to log the traffic.

<sorry if this is a duplicate of sorts, I believe my last email got
hosed.>

Can be ppp0. UML playing the role of a router talking with another UML
playing the role of another router. A serial line (or something
playing that role) linking both with ppp doing the transport of
 packets.

The reason for this is educational.
UML has a greate educational potential. Students, and schools, with
few resources, can make possible the study/education on computer
 networks.
If you use ethereal, or tcpdump, and UML guests connected as a
network, plus the rigths books, tutorials and labs, then you have a
 valuable learning environment.
The better it will be as more real the cenario can get.

 Ernani/H.Floyd.
