Hi Giovanni,

I've installed the standalone version of Spark via Ambari. I'm able to start
and stop it but I would also like to have the "Quick Links" element in the
service page on ambari with a link to the Spark Master UI.
Where can I define the information related to the quick links section?

The knowledge about Quick Links is present in the JS code as of now. Please
refer to the recent work done for adding "Quick Links" to Accumulo service to
get further insight.

I would also like to know a bit more about the service status monitoring, where
can i find some information on this topic?

The status of a hostComponent and eventually service can be retrieved by
implementing status command in python scrips for Spark. Link to the
code<https://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf/ambari/repo?p=ambari.git;a=blob;f=ambari-server/src/main/resources/common-services/SPARK/1.2.0.2.2/package/scripts/job_history_server.py;h=ff04b58eba2b316a4c1960223c4aebe23882486c;hb=HEAD#l86>

FYI,

Work to support spark as a common-service has already been achieved on trunk
and it will be a part of upcoming Ambari-2.0.0 release.
