Thanks Yusaku for the detailed information. So, this means that all the hadoop services can be moved to other hosts if I try to add new hosts to the existing cluster ?

Go to Services > HDFS > Service Actions. You should see an option to move NameNode there. As for HBase Master, it works a little differently. You can add an arbitrary number of HBase Masters. You add HBase Master to another host, and then you can remove it from the original host (go to the Host page where the HBase Master is, and select "Delete" from the Actions) to effectively move. If you are using Ambari 2.0, then there is a bug where the delete option for the HBase Master does not show up. To workaround this, you can remove it via the API: curl -u admin:admin -H 'X-Requested-By: ambari' -X DELETE http://{AMBARI_SERVER_HOST}:8080/api/v1/clusters/{CLUSTERNAME}/hosts/{HOSTNAME}/host_components/HBASE_MASTER I hope this helps.
