Bob,

See:
http://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/Ambari-2.1.0.0/bk_Ambari_Users_Guide/content/_editing_service_config_properties.html

In short, select HDFS on the left hand side list of services and click on
configs tab, switch over to Advanced sub tab and edit the property. Save the
property. Same applies to all other services. Ambari will indicate if you need
to restart the service post config change.

Yeah but how. Like where is the documentation that tells you how to update the
configurations in core-site.xml for example?

Subject: Re: Installing Hue with Ambari

Hi Bob,

Ambari does not support installation of Hue. However, in the case of an Ambari
installed cluster it will be used to manage configurations of dependent
services and config files (sans hue.ini).

I’m trying to install Hue but the directions say, “if you are using an
Ambari-managed cluster, use Ambari to update the service configurations”. How
do you use Ambari to change the configuration xml files?
