Note: After restarting the server that is, as Bryan pointed out. ________________________________ From: Siddharth Wagle Sent: Friday, August 14, 2015 3:06 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Modifying metrics.json file of a service.
Hi Chris, You should be able to see your changes immediately using the metrics_descriptor. Something like: http://<ambari-server>:8080/api/v1/stacks/HDP/versions/2.3/services/HDFS/artifacts/metrics_descriptor<http://104.196.90.153:8080/api/v1/stacks/HDP/versions/2.3/services/HDFS/artifacts/metrics_descriptor> That is how UI knows about it as well. -Sid ________________________________ From: Bryan Bende <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, August 14, 2015 9:34 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Modifying metrics.json file of a service. Christopher, I can't speak to the REST API, but in my experience if you edit the metrics.json and restart ambari-server it will pick up the new metrics. -Bryan On Thu, Aug 13, 2015 at 12:14 PM, Christopher Jackson <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: Hi All, Are there REST API calls to modify the metrics.json file of a custom service? If not and I must edit the metrics.json file by hand, is an ambari-server restart required for those new metric definitions to be picked up and useable by a widget? Regards, Christopher Jackson
