Hi Brian, Take a look at the SQL queries at the end of this doc to find out which component did not get upgraded.
https://community.hortonworks.com/articles/2473/rolling-upgrade-express-upg rade-in-ambari.html That can pinpoint the failure so you can fix it in Ambari (usually through hdp-select and restarting the component via Ambari).
