For any new user of Ant, I would heartily recommend
viewing the HTML manual, frames and all, and from the
main "menu", following the "Ant Tasks" link, and
reading down the list of the tasks specified the lists
linked at "Core Tasks" and "Optional Tasks"
(especially the core tasks). Any task whose purpose
is not immediately evident to you, read a little about
it to get a general idea of what it does. From the
"Core Tasks" and "Optional Tasks" lists, there are
links to an "Overview of Ant Tasks" document which is
not complete but still contains valuable information.
Read about "Concepts and Types" when you can, as well.
Sounds like a lot, but it's well worth it, and you
can hop back and forth as you like. As you read,
solutions to your existing problems may start to take
shape, and future problems will ring bells (didn't I
read about a task that would...?).
Also, poke around the Ant Wiki linked from the main
Ant page. It has lots of examples contributed by
users and developers.
HTH,
Matt
