I tried different things and I have now a acceptable time. I uninstalled
my anti-virus (McAffee) and now all is ok.
So it's not ant.
But under windows XP with an antivirus we don't have the problem.

Thanks for clarifying this. Perhaps memory capacity is the issue as
Martin suggests.
I would hope this can be easily monitored on Vista?
