No, actually; I was thinking about it purely from the perspective of representing the existing decimal types in a way that might be most useful for a consumer -- for instance, if there were some existing "big decimal" math library they could use. I wasn't thinking of adding a new Arrow type for this purpose. That said, I'm sympathetic to wanting this type in Arrow because there **is** a gap in what source system types Arrow can support that your proposal would fill conclusively.
