Taxonomy feature is in tech-preview in Apache Atlas 0.8.x releases; this feature implementation will be replaced with Glossary feature in Apache Atlas 1.0 release. Glossary feature details and implementation are tracked by JIRA ATLAS-1410 and its sub-tasks. There will be an alpha release of Apache Atlas 1.0 in couple of weeks; please see here https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=62695330 for more details of this alpha release contents. What is the state regarding a replacement? Also I have heard from a hortonworks consultant that something big regarding atlas is to be released in February.
