As a book author myself I can only say that the least you can do to respect
an author's work is to buy a copy. If you can't afford one, borrow one from
a library.

Please start with the wiki and all the information online and use this group
to ask the questions you have. There are a lot of helpful people on the list
and you wouldn't be disappointed.
