Malformed IPV6 address

Hi All - upgraded java recently 
(java-11-openjdk-11.0.15.0.9-2.el7_9.x86_64) , and now getting:

nodetool: Failed to connect to '127.0.0.1:7199' - URISyntaxException: 
'Malformed IPv6 address at index 7: rmi://[127.0.0.1]:7199'.

whenever running nodetool.
What am I missing?
