Right after sending the previous message, I realized the URL for 4.1.5 one gets from the download page https://cassandra.apache.org/_/download.html Is not a link to the tarball, despite the status message on the browser seemingly pointing to one. After following that link one gets a Url that does work with wget/curl namely https://dlcdn.apache.org/cassandra/4.1.5/apache-cassandra-4.1.5-bin.tar.gz
